Ryan Lavergne is the founding and managing member of Loil Energy Partners, a Wyoming operator. Under his leadership Loil has grown from 4 wells making 25 barrels a day to now operating 40+ wells averaging 260 barrels a day.

Ryan’s work experience includes TOC Oil, Inc., Black Hills Energy, Samson Resources and XTO, a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil. He started his career in the San Juan Basin focusing on optimizing operating expenses and executing low cost behind-pipe recompletions, adding reserves and extending the life of assets. During the Bakken boom in the early 2010s he completed over 100 horizontals in the Bakken. As completion techniques were quickly evolving his team used analytics, statistical analysis, and operational efficiency to fine tune completion design, leading to increased EURs and ROI. Most recently, he had worked with Powder River Basin but he has also worked in Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico. He has consulted on projects in multiple US basins and some international projects including Canada and Russia. His roles have included completions engineer and operations engineer, and he currently acts as general manager over all roles at Loil Energy Partners, founded in 2016.

Ryan earned his Petroleum Engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines and his MBA from Regis University. He is licensed in Colorado as a Petroleum Engineer. He also holds a real estate license for his real estate investment portfolio. Ryan is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time with his fiancée and three children.


Giving Back

Ryan is on committee for the Faces of Freedom Sporting Clays Tournament. Proceeds of this event go toward Freedom Service Dogs of America (FSD). FSD is a Colorado-based nonprofit that partners people with custom-trained assistance dogs. FSD clients include veterans, active-duty military with PTSD and combat-related injuries, children and teens with autism, and people with mobility challenges, among others. For veterans in particular, service dogs can assist in the process of re-learning to walk, awaken veterans from nightmares, interrupt flashbacks, and provide company in times of isolation and anxiety.
